Peter Somers
Called to the Bar in March 2013, Peter was admitted as a legal practitioner in March 2007. Prior to being called to the Bar, Peter worked for six years as a solicitor in a boutique commercial litigation and insolvency firm. He has acted in a broad and diverse range of commercial matters in the High Court and at all levels of both the State and Federal Courts.
Peter has represented banks, insolvency practitioners, miners, solicitors, large-scale property developers, public media organisations, investors, graziers and publicly listed companies.
Peter was recommended as a leading insolvency and reconstruction barrister by Doyle's Guide in 2019 and 2020 and 2024 as a leading construction & infrastructure junior counsel in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 and as a leading commerial litigation and dispute resolution counsel in 2023.
