Jane Menzies

Jane Menzies has a broad civil and commercial practice.  She has advised and appeared on behalf of government and corporate clients in complex litigation particularly construction and infrastructure disputes, energy and resources disputes, and matters involving competition and consumer law, contractual interpretation, and corporations law.  Jane has acted on several large class actions in the Federal and State Courts and has worked on commissions of inquiry at the Commonwealth and State levels.  Jane is listed in the Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession as a Leading Construction & Infrastructure Junior Counsel.

With her technical background as a Civil Engineer, Jane worked as an engineer in onsite construction, consultancy and project management for several years.  Before being called to the Bar in 2019, she worked in Brisbane as a commercial litigator at a global law firm from 2012, including as a Senior Associate from 2016.

Jane is a university medallist in law and received first class honours in her law and civil engineering degrees.   Jane was formerly associate at the High Court of Australia to the Hon Justice (now Chief Justice) Susan Kiefel AC.
