Jane Menzies

Jane Menzies has a broad civil and commercial practice with an emphasis on complex matters.  Her advisory and trial work includes in the areas of construction and infrastructure, energy and resources, competition law, and corporations law. Jane has been briefed in large class actions in the Federal and State Courts and has worked on commissions of inquiry at the Commonwealth and State levels. Jane is listed in the Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession as a Leading Construction & Infrastructure Junior Counsel.

Jane has a technical background as a Civil Engineer.  She worked as an engineer in onsite construction, consultancy and project management for several years before studying law. 

Jane is a university medallist in law and received first class honours in her law and civil engineering degrees. She was formerly associate at the High Court of Australia to the Hon Justice (later Chief Justice) Susan Kiefel AC KC. Before being called to the Bar, Jane worked in Brisbane as a commercial litigator at a global law firm from 2012, including as a Senior Associate from 2016.
